Different Conformity

Why does our society use the term “different” loosely?
It is believed that if everyone attempts to accomplish the same task, but in a slightly faster or more “efficient” way, we are different
In order to be different, we must comply with the same rules
We must act the same in order to achieve a different result
It is a bit of a contradiction to say that
Our Western culture focuses on individuality and ways of being different
The problem is that if everyone wants to be different, then aren’t we all the same?
We all share the same goal of being different

Maybe we’re just sleeping

What if I’m not real?
I can see things, but what am I really looking at?
I don’t understand what I am
I need guidance
I know I can feel things
Am I asleep?
Does sleep even exist
What if none of this really exists
What are we even living for?
Or are we even alive
What if I’m the only person that exists?
Am I alone?
Why does no one have these answers?
You probably don’t understand when I ask these questions
I want to know what life is, if there is such a thing
Why do we have thoughts or emotions?
If only I knew

There’s No Difference Between Being Helpful and Being Selfish

Everything we do is for ourselves
Yes, that’s right
Don’t you think the ones that do most for others only do for themselves?
Think about it
We help others in order to make our conscious feel good
I’ll give you an example
When you help someone with a math problem, you do it so you can feel good that you helped that person
Of course, some may disagree with this
Maybe they disagree because they don’t want to believe they are selfish
I may be going out on a limb, but perhaps they are in denial
They deny this because they want to protect themselves or say they were actually trying to be “nice”
These arguments may be a bit far fetched for the world’s taste, but we must open our eyes
We must feed our mind with these questions and ponder them

To the boy who is afraid to cry in public

Why is it considered weak if a boy cries?
Are they not as vulnerable as girls?
It is not fair to the boy that is attacked at school for not doing his job right
It is not fair to the boy that is picked on because of his sexuality
It is not fair to the boy that is so frustrated and cannot express his emotions in another way
They have to “tough it out”
People don’t see the way they are affected by those hurtful words
They feel as though it is not socially acceptable to show emotion
Why?
We live in a hurtful society where they are mocked for crying
The ones who cry should have no fear of this
We must stop this hurtful society and let boys cry
If we don't achieve this, then how do we expect to overcome bigger issues?
